In a mild moonlit night a man meets a woman. The event seems to be pure chance but in the course of the play turns out to be
thoroughly arranged. The man knows the woman once committed a murder, and he is going to make use of her. But the encounter ends
quite unexpectedly.
The Istanbul 5. Sokak Tiyatrosu company was directed Mustafa Avkıran and performed the play in quite a special way. The
stage shows a sync studio, and the actors confine themselves to record their talks on a video tape. On the rear wall the audience
can see three camera settings simultaneously; so that they follow the play four times at the same time which makes the scenery
somewhat surrealistic.
My translation was needed for the German sync text during the theatre festival of Bonn Biennale 2002.
This play has been performed this season at
Kellertheater Winterthur (Switzerland), first time in German language. A review was published by Der Landbote, a Swiss
newspaper, on 26th January, 2010. You can read it
here.
