A man enters a hotel room in Turkey. In autumn 1980, shortly after the military putsch, he had spent a night in this very room
instead of helping a fellow-leftist of his to paint slogans against the junta. So his fellow had been arrested and killed by the
police. In that room full of memories he relives with agonizing intensity the conflict between his love affair and his political
commitment.
I translated this play in 1994 for the First European Drama Award which took place in Kassel, Meiningen, and Weimar.
